Během pátku jsme se na kopci postupně sešli v obsazení: Pepa OK1CED, Libor OK1DOL, Martin OK3MAD, Pepa OK1TKP, Láďa OK1USW, Dan OK1XDF a Láďa OK1ZIA. V sobotu ještě dorazil zpožděný Miloš OK1MZM. Z lidí jezdících pravidelně chyběli Honza OK1NP a Zdeněk OK3RM.

Celkově spojení moc nepřibývala, dokonce i ve srovnání s prvním subrem.

The last May contest was my second experince with 23cm after many years. I was looking forward to a lot of aircraft scatter QSOs that make this band magic.
Last contest we had troubles with the main tube PA that was giving about 400 Watts. Unfortunately, Lada OK1USW emailed us that this PA is definitely dead. It ment we will use just 100 Watts PA instead of damaged one. Thus our equipment was 1.8 m dish with 100 Watts and 1.8 m dish with 150 Watts. Prior to damage of the 400 Watts PA I thought our score in May contest could be circa 40 kpts. When Lada told us the PA is damaged I did not believe we could reach 40 kpts.
There were a lot of other improvements. Lada has completed magic box that enabled to control TRX and antenna rotor from PC. I could use microphone of headset for the first time. It was comfortable endeed. And also, I made new remote switch of antennas.
Our score was increasing very slowly at beginning of the contest. Many stations had higher number of QSOs than us. No station answered to our CQ. We made just skeds from ON4KST. After a couple of hours even no stations were comming from the second antenna system (1.8 m + 100 Watts). A 99% of QSO were comming thanks to skeds from ON4KST and 70 cm station. All these stations were comming from the first antenna system (1.8 m +100 Watts). The second antenna system was unusable at all till end of the contest.
But, most of skeds were completed and score was continuously increasing. I got started to think that our score will be great at the end of this contest.
I went to the bed after 00:30 GMT. I hadn´t had enough sleep. I didn´t know specific cause, but I needed quality sleeping that night to be ready to transmit on Sunday too. That´s why I had to take sleeping pills. You can imagine that I had hard time in the morning when I had to wake-up after, let say, 5 hours :-).
In the morning Lada ZIA wrote me by local network I should try to work with John G3XDY. Oh yep, that was a great idea. QRB is 919 km! John agreed with our sked request. John wrote me our plane will be in a suitable position in 7 minutes. He was absolutely right! I got started to hear his CW! QSO was completed very quickly. The final 73s were VERY strong! John had really booming signal at the end of our QSO. Thank you John for amazing experience and ODX!
The last 2 hours it was terrible. QSOs with all station from ON4KST were done or there were just stations which we was not able to work with. We tried sked with Ulf SM7LCB, but we did not hear to each other. We spent a lot of time with this sked. It was a pity. Ulf, thanks for your patience!
The final score is 146 QSO and 48.8 kpts. We are more than satisfy with our score. We know we are able to achieve better score, but we need more power to be called by stations answering to our CQ and to improve our RX, especially RX of the second antenna system.
Thank you for your points and I hope to hear you in June contest.
73! Milos OK1MZM
